  • Monday is almost here
Don’t let the week pass by without accomplishing that task you have told yourself you will.
Avoid distraction as much as you can.
Time moves in a way that sometimes you can’t even account for.

Someone ones told me “I feel like 2 years of my life is missing “ I laughed .
But thinking deep into that’s how time moves without even noticing.

Go back to that thing you have always wanted to accomplish start small and have the big picture in mind.

  • Bar No 3 Shanghai
Eminently comfortable cocktail bar close to Jiaotong University. The drinks aren't cheap, but they're made with quality and love so you won't feel ripped off. They've got about 50 drinks, mostly in the 80-100rmb range, and some Kentucky beers. There's several couches and low seating areas, a bar with space for twelve, and a few tables outside, plus jazz music on the stereo at a perfect volume. Simple and elegant, it's a good spot for a date.

  • Try out this hidden or not so hidden gem in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province it’s definitely one way to enjoy Shenzhen nights

It’s called Woo Shisha Lounge and I’ve been there a couple of times now & just to say ; this isn’t me encouraging anyone to smoke, just sharing my experience.

They honestly have some of the best shisha I’ve tried. So many flavors and you can adjust the strength to your preference. My personal fave? Earl Grey Smooth, slightly sweet, and different.

Another thing was the cocktails because that’s what really impressed me. You know how some places are hit or miss with drinks? These were actually well made and balanced every time.

If you’re in Shenzhen or visiting and want a chill spot to wind down after a long day, the vibe here is relaxed and easy.

  • During the time I stopped, I kept asking myself a hard question.
If I had continued every single day till now, where would I be today?

I understand that life happened. Some days were heavier than others.
But still… imagine not stopping. Imagine just showing up.

What’s the worst that could have happened?

You learn. You grow. You get better.

    That’s the win.

  • Before the first episode drops, I just want to say this.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how to start this podcast. I really want to do it, I really want to start having these conversations, but honestly, I don’t have the perfect direction yet.

So I decided to start with myself.

I don’t know if that’s the “right” way to begin, but it felt like something. I felt like getting to know me first, my journey, how I ended up here, actually matters before anything else.

This first episode is me talking freely about my story, without overthinking it. Just starting.

    Episode 1 drops soon.

  • Hafrik started in China.
Not as a company, but as a response to confusion, isolation, and misinformation many Africans face when living abroad.
What began as a small community is growing into something bigger.

A home away from home for Africans abroad.

Wherever you land, Hafrik is home.

  • Shenyang | West Tower “Fairy-Tale” BBQ Spot
If you’re looking for somewhere cozy and beautiful to eat in Shenyang, check out this Korean BBQ spot in West Tower (Xita). During blue hour, the wooden cabin lights up and the whole area feels warm and romantic.

The food isn’t just pretty. The beef is super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The scallion, miso, and wasabi sauces really take it to another level.

    What to try:
    ✔ Korean Bibimbap
    ✔ Thick-cut pork belly
✔ Beef with scallion + wasabi
    ✔ Miso flavored beef
    ✔ Grilled thick sliced beef
    ✔ Mango rice wine slush
    ✔ Lychee soju cocktail

    Address (中文):
    辽宁省沈阳市和平区瑰春南路9号

Taking a taxi? Show the driver this:
    我要去:沈阳市和平区瑰春南路9号

Good for friends, dates, and small hangouts.

  • My question is:
1: Does self-defense legally exist in China?
2: If someone attacks you, how much are you allowed to defend yourself?
3: Is there more leniency if you’re protecting your family?
4: How do police usually tell the difference between self-defense and “mutual fighting”?

Just trying to understand how this works in practice, not criticizing.
    Thanks!

  • Thank You, 2025
2025 reminded us why Hafrik exists.
To every foreigner, student, creator, business owner, and professional who used Hafrik this year, thank you. Whether you found a job, attended an event, built real connections, or simply felt less alone navigating life in China, you were part of something bigger.

Hafrik is not just a platform.
    It’s a community.
    It’s a bridge.
It’s people helping people figure things out.

We’re grateful for everyone who believed in the vision, shared opportunities, showed up for others, and helped make Hafrik the foreigners’ hub it continues to grow into.

As we step into 2026, we’re building more, connecting deeper, and doing even better together.

    Let’s do more.
    Let’s go further.
    Let’s keep building Hafrik.

  • 2025: Lessons, Growth, and Moving Forward
As I look back on 2025, one theme stands out for me: growth through movement.
This year, I made the decision to leave my city and step into a new environment. It wasn’t comfortable, but it pushed me to think bigger, build smarter, and challenge myself in new ways.

Leading and developing Hafrik as an ecosystem, while growing HafrikPlay , #HafrikTV and other projects, demanded resilience, clarity, and discipline. Entrepreneurship isn’t just about ideas. It’s about adapting, making tough calls, and staying focused when things are uncertain.

    One important lesson stood out:

Don’t force people into a vision they don’t believe in.
Create movement. The right people align themselves.

Not every decision paid off. Some sacrifices didn’t return what I expected. Some seasons required slowing down and restructuring. But there were meaningful wins: clearer systems, better direction, stronger confidence in where we’re going.

    Someone asked me recently:
“What do you do for fun?”
That question made me rethink balance and sustainability. Building matters. Living intentionally matters too.

I also want to say thank you.

To my co-founders and teammates at HafrikPlay:
Omobosola Alaka ,Abolaji Alaka Destiny Ezenwata
thank you for your dedication and belief in the vision.

And to everyone who has contributed in any way across the Hafrik ecosystem, your support, ideas, and effort truly matter.

As I step into 2026, I’m carrying clarity, discipline, and determination. And I’m focusing on what aligns, what builds, and what truly matters.

    Grateful for the journey.
    Grateful for the lessons.
And thankful to God for seeing me through.

    On to 2026.

  • Why are these hotels so cheap?

These are not the only ones I have seen, there are dozen of phenomenal looking hotels for less than $30. They also have quite a lot of reviews but it seems a bit too good. Can somebody explain what I might be missing or if that is a common scam?
