  • Breaking news for all Hafrik comrades: the #Mawangdui Online Chinese course just hit its 1000th enrollment! πŸš€

An awesome milestone for this course since its inception 6 months ago, making practical Chinese accessible for Africans living in China. Congratulations to every participant who has committed to this journey! πŸŽ“

Since the start, 75% of students managed to secure better job opportunities in Guangdong's textile mills or market districts like Gongyuanqian & Xingangshi. These numbers are proof that investing in learning Chinese pays off — big time!

In the next quarter, plan to expand the course to include 2 more districts, increasing our collective opportunities in the Chinese market.

Remember, mastering a new language is not about memorizing words. It's about communication, establishing trust, and getting deals done.

    Trust the process.

  • Hey friends, thought I'd jot down a bit about our experience here in Chinese universities πŸ’Ό. It's a mix of culture, language and that oh-so-important pursuit of education. Curious about the nitty gritty? Step 1: courses. Yeah, the business and tech courses here are on point. Worth every yuan invested. Step 2: language. Learning Mandarin? Yeah, it kicks in the short and long-term job prospects. So what's the ROI on that? πŸ€” As for culture - it's a whole different 🍲. Here's the catch: it might seem overwhelming at first, but eventually, it grows on you. Let's chat more about it - what's on your mind? Any specific questions?

  • Most people only celebrate the finished product.

Very few appreciate the hours behind the scenes, the setbacks, the learning, and the consistency it takes to build something that matters.

    Keep showing up.
    Keep building.
One day, your hard work will speak louder than your words.

Small actions, repeated consistently, can lead to extraordinary results.
Stay curious, stay kind, and never stop learning.

  • How to explain "8-9 don't leave 10" to your confused friends πŸ˜‚

You tell your friend it’s “8 nine don’t leave 10” and they think you’re teaching them a math mystery. πŸ”’πŸŒ€

Today's lesson from Lost in Chinglish:
“八九不离十” (Bā jiΗ” bù lí shí).
It means "Almost there," but the Chinglish version is just way more iconic. 🐼✨

Share the wisdom (and the confusion) with your global friends! πŸ’Ž

  • Building has tested me in ways I never expected.

As CEO, tech lead, product thinker, problem solver, and sometimes the person holding everything together mentally, it has not been easy.

There were moments of excitement, but also frustration.
From dealing with Apple challenges and technical roadblocks, to handling life itself while still trying to build something meaningful.

People often see startups from the outside and think it’s just about launches, funding, or big wins.
What they don’t see are the sleepless nights, the uncertainty, the pressure, and the discipline it takes to keep going when things are not moving the way you hoped.

But despite everything, I’m still here.
    Still building.
    Still learning.
Still believing in what Hafrik can become.

This journey is shaping me as much as I’m shaping the company.

To every founder, builder, engineer, designer, or dreamer carrying weight behind the scenes, I see you.

    We keep going.

  • I’ve been thinking a lot recently about building, growth, and direction.

Over the past few years, I’ve moved countries, built products, started companies, made mistakes, learned hard lessons, met amazing people, and started building something bigger than I initially planned.

One thing I’ve realized is that life rarely goes in a straight line.

Most of the time, you’re just figuring things out, adjusting, learning, failing, fixing, and continuing.

Right now, I’m focused on building Hafrik and a few other things around community, technology, and media.

Still building. Still learning. Still growing.

  • 3 Simple Tips to Help Your Small Business Grow (No Fancy Tools Required!)

    1. Focus on "micro-customers" first
You don’t need to target everyone right away. Find 10-20 people who truly love your product or service, listen closely to their feedback—these folks will be your best word-of-mouth promoters.

    2. Turn one-time buyers into loyal fans
Send a quick follow-up message: "Hi [Name], we’re so glad you picked our [product]! If you have any tiny tweaks or thoughts, feel free to reach out anytime." A small, personal check-in goes a long way in making customers remember you.

    3. "Borrow" (kindly!) from other small businesses
Look at what other great small players in your space are doing—not copying their content, but learning their little winning moves: like how they chat with customers, or small packaging details that make people smile.

    Engagement note:
"Which tip will you test first? Or do you have a hidden small business hack I missed? Drop it in the comments, or share your own tip in a post with #TalkTuesday #HafrikInsights—let’s grow together!"
