Don’t make same mistakes

So last Sunday my friend and I saw this massive European-style castle-church thing from the road in Ganzhou and we were like “Yo, they built a cathedral here and nobody told us?!” Looked exactly like those old churches you see in movies: tall spires, stained-glass-looking windows, the whole vibe. We even crossed ourselves out of respect before walking in 😂 We push open the giant doors expecting incense and hymns… instead the lady at the front desk in a suit goes “欢迎光临” (welcome) and hands us a room-rate card. Turns out the whole “church” is actually a luxury themed hotel called FUHOME. The altar area? Reception. The “chapel”? Lobby with chandeliers. The confession booths? Probably some VIP suites now 😂 We stood there for a solid 30 seconds with our mouths open, then started laughing so loud security thought we were drunk. How to Order Food in China Without Speaking Perfect Chinese (Works 99% of the Time) Step 1: Open WeChat/Dianping/Alipay Step 2: Scan the QR code on the table (almost every restaurant has one) Step 3: Menu pops up with photos + English/translation Step 4: Point at pictures, choose, pay instantly Step 5: Food arrives in 5–10 mins. No talking needed 😂 Bonus hack: If there’s no QR code, open your camera, point at the Chinese menu, and use the built-in translator (WeChat & Alipay both have it). Magic.
