Mark Twain put it well.Mark Twain put it well.
"Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection."
Progress you can see builds trust you can feel.
5 micro - habits that beat perfectionism:
1. Ship the 80% version.
Set "good enough for feedback" and release it this week.
2. Define "done for now."
One clear outcome, one owner, one date.
Review with data later.
3. Reduce the surface area.
Change one variable per iteration.
4. Shorten the loop.
Monthly, then weekly, then daily.
5. Make learning visible.
What changed, what you learned, what's next.
Share it.
Did you ship something before it felt ready this quarter?
If yes, what changed?

New African students just landed in China, real talk: register with police within 24 hours of moving, don't skip it, fines are no joke. Get WeChat Pay linked immediately, cash is basically useless now. Learn 50 basic Mandarin phrases before you even land, campus life gets lonely fast without it. Don't overstay your visa hoping to 'sort it later.' Build a squad of seniors from your country, they'll save you from scams and bad landlords. CNBC caught up with Aleese Lightyear, an American who swapped NYC rent stress for Chengdu and now lives on about $30K a year. $278/month for her downtown apartment, student loans paid off, and she's still banking up to $1,000 a month toward a future Mexico beach house. If you've ever wondered why so many foreigners land in China and just... stay, her budget breakdown makes it obvious. Worth watching for the real numbers, not just vibes.

Live Stream = Illegal Working?
Making money from live streams in China as a foreigner?
It's possible.
🚫 However, most foreign influencers are doing it illegally.
Tourist visa, student visa, Q1 family visa — NONE let you work.
Live streaming for money IS work, according to Article 41 of the Exit & Entry Law.
What happens if you get caught?
• ¥5,000 - ¥20,000 fine
• 5-15 days detention
• Deportation
• 1-5 YEAR entry ban
💰 You also MUST pay Chinese taxes.
All income from streams in China is China-source income.
Tax rate: 20%-40% on labor payments.
Platforms must withhold tax — but if they don't, it's still YOUR problem.
🏢 You can't register as a solo business.
Foreigners can't be 个体户 (individual proprietors).
MCN companies have foreign investment restrictions too.
✅ 3 steps to do it legally:
-Get a Z visa + work permit
-Sign with a licensed platform or MCN
-Let them handle your tax withholding
Don't risk your life in China over a side hustlem

Saw this on one of my favorite content creators In China.
What’s it like working in China ?
Living and working in China has been one of the most interesting chapters of my life—but it’s also taught me that there isn’t one “China experience.”
As a PE teacher and content creator, I get to experience things I never imagined: teaching in a different education system, adapting to new environments, building relationships, taking care of my health and recovery, and even exploring business opportunities through factory visits.
But I’ve also learned that what you see online is only one side of the story.
This carousel gives you a glimpse into my experience working and living in China—the opportunities, the challenges, and some of the things I wish more people considered before making the move.
And if you want the full story, I filmed an entire week of my life as a PE teacher in China—from the classroom to the gym, school life, recovery, meetings, and everything happening in between.

China’s New Exit-Entry Rules Take Effect September 15, 2026 – What Foreigners Need to Know
China’s State Council has issued new Regulations on Exit and Entry Administration (Order No. 841). They come into force on 15 September 2026.
Key changes for foreigners:
• Providing false materials or making false statements on a visa or entry application can now result in a 1–5 year entry ban.
• Common violations include: fake invitation letters, falsified education/work documents, concealing a previous stay in China, or claiming tourism when the real purpose is business/work.
• Anyone who issues a false invitation letter or supporting documents can be fined RMB 5,000–10,000 (individuals) or RMB 10,000–50,000 (companies), plus confiscation of illegal profits.
• Immigration consultants and visa agents in China face stricter registration and heavier penalties (fines, suspension, or licence revocation).
The rules mainly codify existing practices and close loopholes. Ordinary tourists and genuine business travellers following the rules should not be affected.
Stay accurate, avoid fake documents, and apply for the correct visa category.
