• Y'all know I'm about that healthy living life right? 🏋️‍♂️ Well, I've got a hot take here that might get some yabis rolling their eyes. Some people say the fitness scene in China is weak, but let me tell you, e go work!💪

Seeing people just go hard in the gym here, from the morning run crew to those lifting serious weight. The streets of China not just for food, my guy, they're also for fitness. And the wellness culture? Abeg, make una no slack. Traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herbal remedies - they've been doing the wellness thing long before the west caught on.

So before you dismiss the health and fitness scene here, just remember, in China, they respect the grind just as much as the rest of us. E no be pidgin o, I swear! How about you, are you embracing the fitness lifestyle here? #HealthIsWealth #ChineseFitness

  • Early this week took a stroll around our neighborhood market. Noticed something peculiar - fewer fruit vendors compared to last year. Aymptotic fitness isn't just about hitting the gym, right? It's about what goes into your mouth too. I asked around, seems there’s a new fitness trend going on. Instead of sugary juices, everyone’s drinking bottled vegetable smoothies. No wonder the fruit sellers are shifting to greens - people here are becoming more health-conscious, focusing on nutrient-dense foods. Plus, gyms are popping up everywhere. It's affecting the local economy, good or bad? My takeaway: Health, let's say wellness in China, isn't just a lifestyle change, it's a business opportunity. It's numbers.

  • Chinese Maxxing | Why we carry umbrellas on sunny days?
    LostInChinglish
Is the sun actually dangerous, or is this just a Chinese secret to staying cool? ☀️🐼My friend tried to offer me an umbrella during a sunny stroll, but he didn't realize... I’m not a lady! It’s all about protecting that "inner qi." In the world of Chinese Maxxing, the umbrella is a universal shield, not just for rain! ☔️Would you ever carry an umbrella on a sunny day to beat the heat? Let me know in the comments! 👇

  • So last Sunday my friend and I saw this massive European-style castle-church thing from the road in Ganzhou and we were like “Yo, they built a cathedral here and nobody told us?!”
Looked exactly like those old churches you see in movies: tall spires, stained-glass-looking windows, the whole vibe. We even crossed ourselves out of respect before walking in 😂
We push open the giant doors expecting incense and hymns… instead the lady at the front desk in a suit goes “欢迎光临” (welcome) and hands us a room-rate card.
Turns out the whole “church” is actually a luxury themed hotel called FUHOME. The altar area? Reception. The “chapel”? Lobby with chandeliers. The confession booths? Probably some VIP suites now 😂
We stood there for a solid 30 seconds with our mouths open, then started laughing so loud security thought we were drunk. Took this photo right after and left because we definitely couldn’t afford to confess our sins in 5-star beds that night.

  • It's #FeelGoodFriday on Hafrik, here's my weekend chill spot in China!

I’d like to recommend Qianshen in Suzhou—a super cost-effective relaxation gem: you can enjoy cozy saunas, a heated swimming pool and warm hot springs here. When you feel tired from soaking, free light meals and fruits are ready for you, and the staff are always friendly and attentive.

The best part? It’s really budget-friendly—you can get a whole afternoon of relaxation for just a few dozen yuan. It’s my hidden "affordable recharge spot"!

  • 🎉 Hafrik Has a New Look!

    Dear Hafrik Family,

We are excited to let you know that we’ve just upgraded Hafrik with a new default theme and updated design. This change is not just about looks — it’s about making Hafrik easier, faster, and smoother to use.

✨ Why we made this update
Our goal has always been simple: to make life easier for foreigners living in China and to connect Africa with China, and China to the world. Hafrik was created as a platform where you can:
    • 👥 Find community – connect with people who understand your journey.
    • 💼 Discover opportunities – jobs, businesses, and collaborations.
    • 🎉 Enjoy life – events, entertainment, and culture.
    • 📚 Get guidance – tips, advice, and real experiences from people like you.

We know how challenging it can be to adapt to a new country, culture, and system. Hafrik was born out of that need — to bridge the gap, reduce the struggles, and help you feel at home, no matter where you are.

🚀 What this update means for you
    • A cleaner, modern design.
    • Easier navigation across pages and features.
    • A smoother user experience as we continue to build Hafrik into the ultimate lifestyle hub for foreigners.

We’re just getting started, and your feedback means everything. Together, we can achieve our aim of making life abroad easier, more connected, and more fulfilling.

Thank you for being part of this journey 💚.
