• Saw this video on 'CHINA NA AFRICA KWAUNDANI' and it got me thinking. Offers an interesting take on the ever-growing relationship between our continent and Asia. Not sure about this one, though—more like scratching the surface, but still worth a watch.

  • I just stumbled upon this interesting YouTube video talking about 'China's Film Diplomacy in Africa.' Now this is something new. I don't know how I feel about films being used for diplomacy. Sounds like a movie plot, but is this normal? 🤔 #ChinaInAfrica #DiplomacyDrama

  • Nkem, my 11-year-old, has been struggling with her Mandarin lately 📚. I made her start classes over a year ago, hoping it would be good preparation when the time comes to study in a Chinese university. Well, this week she came home and asked me, “Mom, why do we study HSK?” Instead of getting mad, I picked her brain further, and she went on about how she found the language classes interesting but she'd appreciate more motivation. That got us talking about scholarships! She perked up when I mentioned some of the scholarship opportunities available for proficient Mandarin speakers, including the ones right here in China. It’s not just about getting good grades in HSK levels anymore. There are scholarships tied to language proficiency! 💸 This has opened our eyes to the bigger picture. Now we're both more energized about our language journey. It’s not only about learning a new language but also opening doors to incredible opportunities. I wish I had known earlier... maybe we’d be further along in this journey. Sharing this hope with you all, to keep our kids encouraged in their Mandarin studies, knowing it could lead them to chase those scholarship dreams 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️!

  • Hey there! I noticed something super interesting 🤔 this week on the streets of China - how everyone looks at their phones all the time. Has anyone else experienced this? It was like a sea of swaying heads, people were so engrossed! #ChinaTech maybe?😅

  • So I’m currently in Guangzhou, and something interesting happened today.

I went out to eat with a friend. He kept insisting on this particular spot, like “this place is really good, you’ll like it.” But I was also pushing for somewhere else.

Funny thing is, we’ve both actually tried each other’s spots before.
He’s been to mine and didn’t like it. I’ve been to his, and I didn’t like it either.

But somehow, we both still stood our ground 😅

So we ended up going to his spot. We ordered, ate… and just as expected, he enjoyed his food, and I still didn’t.

    Now I’m just thinking…

If we had gone to my own spot instead, would it have been the same thing?
Would I be the one enjoying it while he’s just there wondering what the hype is?

Same city, same food… completely different experiences.

Is it just taste? Or something deeper?
