• So last Sunday my friend and I saw this massive European-style castle-church thing from the road in Ganzhou and we were like “Yo, they built a cathedral here and nobody told us?!”
Looked exactly like those old churches you see in movies: tall spires, stained-glass-looking windows, the whole vibe. We even crossed ourselves out of respect before walking in
We push open the giant doors expecting incense and hymns… instead the lady at the front desk in a suit goes “欢迎光临” (welcome) and hands us a room-rate card.
Turns out the whole “church” is actually a luxury themed hotel called FUHOME. The altar area? Reception. The “chapel”? Lobby with chandeliers. The confession booths? Probably some VIP suites now
We stood there for a solid 30 seconds with our mouths open, then started laughing so loud security thought we were drunk. Took this photo right after and left because we definitely couldn’t afford to confess our sins in 5-star beds that night.

  • It's #FeelGoodFriday on Hafrik, here's my weekend chill spot in China!

I’d like to recommend Qianshen in Suzhou—a super cost-effective relaxation gem: you can enjoy cozy saunas, a heated swimming pool and warm hot springs here. When you feel tired from soaking, free light meals and fruits are ready for you, and the staff are always friendly and attentive.

The best part? It’s really budget-friendly—you can get a whole afternoon of relaxation for just a few dozen yuan. It’s my hidden "affordable recharge spot"!

  • Where Do You Go to Unwind in Your City?
Life in China can move so fast — new faces, new food, new routines.
But everyone needs that one spot where they can slow down, recharge, and just breathe.

For some, it’s a quiet café with jazz music and milk tea.
For others, it’s a night walk along the Pearl River, a small African restaurant, or even a WeChat group full of familiar names.

Where’s your go-to place to unwind in your city?
Drop the name or short description below — let’s build a community list of the best chill spots across Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, and beyond.

Whether it’s a park, a rooftop, or a late-night market, someone in your city might just need that same space too.
