Yesterday was one of those days when China's visa rules feel like a riddle wrapped in a puzzle 🔍🤷‍♂️. I went to the visa application center to help a friend who's been trying to get a new visa, and let me tell you, the place is buzzing like a beehive! So many people, so many papers and photos, and the line was longer than the queue at the chop bar on a Friday night 😅.

One guy, Ahmed was his name, shared his story as he kiddingly ranted about how he had to reapply for his visa - again. They tell you one thing in the consulate when you're applying, and another when you show up with the exact same documents. Humbled him enough to treat us all to a round of drinks later on 🥂.

On the bright side, it seems there's a fresh batch of ease-ups in immigration news for some types of visas. Heard whispers of quicker processing times – which is music to our ears, medaase! Just remember, in China, a day in immigration news can change your plans faster than you can say 'Ataaloe!'. Keep your documents tight, and check those new rules before your visa interview date, or you'll find yourself at the chop bar more frequent than you would like. Eminently comfortable cocktail bar close to Jiaotong University. The drinks aren't cheap, but they're made with quality and love so you won't feel ripped off. They've got about 50 drinks, mostly in the 80-100rmb range, and some Kentucky beers. There's several couches and low seating areas, a bar with space for twelve, and a few tables outside, plus jazz music on the stereo at a perfect volume. Simple and elegant, it's a good spot for a date.

It’s called Woo Shisha Lounge and I’ve been there a couple of times now & just to say ; this isn’t me encouraging anyone to smoke, just sharing my experience.

They honestly have some of the best shisha I’ve tried. So many flavors and you can adjust the strength to your preference. My personal fave? Earl Grey 🤍 Smooth, slightly sweet, and different.

Another thing was the cocktails 🍸 because that’s what really impressed me. You know how some places are hit or miss with drinks? These were actually well made and balanced every time.

If you’re in Shenzhen or visiting and want a chill spot to wind down after a long day, the vibe here is relaxed and easy.

Review: What a nice place. The cocktails are fantastic and happy hour is from 1pm-7pm 38rmb for selected drinks which are really good also shishia is available for 99rmb also from 1-7pm.
