It's not just any fitness club, no, no, I repeat, no. It's special because it cares for our African brothers and sisters here in China who e dey struggle with all these sitting down jobs weh get too much weed. Their latest program, #FitAndJoy, aimed at creating a health-conscious culture and transforming workspaces into mini-fitness centers. Imagine! They've got all this cool equipment and they just set them up right in your workplace, and train you up. What a win! The best part? I hear they explaining everything in plain Pidgin, and even Mandarin.🏋️‍♂️💪 I mean, where else can you find such a thing? And naira to ya, it's affordable! Y’all remember that time in Lagos, when you just wake up on a Sunday and your cousin is oyinbo decided to start chasing your kids around the house, making them laugh uncontrollably? I had that deja vu moment right here in China. 😂 My neighbour has a 4-year-old son, a genuinely curious kid who speaks more languages than I care to remember (throwback to the School of hard knocks, Obiwon vibes, abi?🚬). Anyway, this week, this little mugu traipsed into our house while we were having an abeg-o-abeg meal of jollof rice “rice” and beans. He was chatting away with the kids in Mandarin or whatever and my omo was loving it. He pulled out his toys, every colour of the crayon box basically, and played with my kids. I swear, this Nigerian food was too spicy for him but he tried it anyway (8/10 will hit my mama’s kitchen again), because you know, “when in Rome...” 🤔 #OyaTryAm #MixAndMatch I could see it in their eyes, mingling of cultures, and the best part...we were all hooping and laughing like it was our everyday life. Cannot lie, I enjoyed the cultural exchange and seeing my kids adjust so smoothly. Truly, this life in China is not all wahala it’s meant to be. 🤷‍♂️😅
