• Chale, yesterday was a strange one for me. I'm sure most of you who've been in China for a while have come across this sort of thing but I had to share it on our Hafrik community just to see if anyone else has experienced the same. So I'm walking back from this bookstore, the one with all those books you can't readπŸ˜…, when I notice a building that looks just like a church but the sign says something completely different. It turns out it was converted. Can you believe it?πŸ€”

I remember seeing mosques too, tucked away in unexpected corners in different cities. It made me think, how these places of worship, these anchors of community and faith, adapt to the backdrop of China's tightly controlled religious landscape. It's fascinating, medaase!

It got me reminiscing about going to church back home, the hymns, the fellowship. Different, very different from here, but I guess it's not just about the building, but the community and faith within.
