Whether you’re landing in Beijing, flying out from Guangzhou, or making a stop in Shanghai, China’s visa-free transit policy allows you to explore the country for up to 240 hours (10 days) — no full visa required.
✈️ What Is the 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit?
This is a special policy that lets eligible travelers stay in China without a visa for up to 240 hours, as long as you’re transiting on your way to a third country or region.
For example:
📍 Germany → Shanghai → Thailand
✅ You’re eligible for this visa-free stay.
✅ Who Qualifies?
To be eligible, you must:

Have a valid passport

Hold a confirmed onward ticket to a third country or region (e.g. Thailand, UAE, Taiwan, Hong Kong)

Enter through an approved entry port
