Cold Front Sweeps Across China: Sharp Drop in Temperatures Expected

A strong cold front is sweeping across China, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures and signaling the end of the lingering autumn heat. According to the China Meteorological Administration, most provinces will experience a temperature decrease of 4°C–8°C, while some areas like Beijing, Hunan, and Inner Mongolia may see a drop of over 10°C.

From Friday to Wednesday, the cold front will move southward, covering most parts of the country. This marks the lowest temperature of the second half of the year for many regions.

The clash between the cold and warm air masses has also led to torrential rains in provinces such as Sichuan, Shaanxi, Henan, and Hubei. Rainfall is expected to move east and south, gradually weakening by the weekend.

Authorities are advising residents, especially in central and eastern provinces, to dress warmly and be prepared for sudden weather changes. People in southwestern and eastern regions are urged to stay alert for potential floods or landslides due to continuous rainfall. Meanwhile, Xinjiang and northeastern China are forecasted to experience frosty weather, prompting farmers to speed up the autumn harvest.

As temperatures continue to drop, this serves as a reminder to prepare your winter clothing early and stay safe during travel.
